Random Thoughts for the Day

So I've made the decision that I'm completely in love with country living. Every time we make the drive to Reidsville to visit my in laws, we go on the back roads and I soak up the view. Giant fields of green grass as far as you can see, beautiful old farmhouses with stables in the backyard, corn stalks, and even the adorable strawberry stand that when the season is right, you can go pick your own strawberry's. I love it! On that drive we also pass many old tiny farmhouses, that are about to fall apart, but would make beautiful photographs when the sun is setting. Living in the city means smaller yards, city lights, and the sounds of nearby traffic. I want to be able to sit on my back porch, or front, and watch the sun set. I want to hear the wind blowing, birds chirping, and grasshoppers. I'd like to wake up one morning and while making my coffee, look out the window and see deer running through the back yard. I found some of these pictures to best describe what I'm feeling.

On a completely different note, I've been sick for the past two days. Because I didn't want to get my 2 month old sick, I haven't held him or even gotten close to him. It has been so hard! This morning I felt much better and he also had the nest nights sleep yet. He slept for 8 1/2 hours straight. I was shocked! I glanced over into his bassinet at 7:00 a.m. this morning and he was just smiling at me. So I picked him up and to feel him in my arms was the best! I had no idea how much I would miss holding him. I told my husband I never wanted to be sick again. Although really who wants to be sick anyway? But for my sons sake especially, I would hate to be in any situation that prevented me from being close to him.

Today marks the five year anniversary since my first date with Joshua. It's hard to believe so much time has passed. Not only was our lifestyle different then but we were different people. I feel so lucky that we have grown together over the years. Happy Anniversary Baby!
